Bipolar-disorder

Bipolar disorder (formerly known as manic depression) is a condition that affects your mood, which can swing from one extreme to another. If you have bipolar disorder, you can have periods or episodes of depression, during which you tend to feel very low and lethargic. You will also experience the counterpoint to these episodes with periods of mania, where you feel very high and overactive.

Symptoms of bipolar disorder depend on which mood you are experiencing. Unlike simple mood swings, each acute episode of bipolar disorder can last for several weeks (or even longer), and some people may not experience a normal mood very often at all.

Dr. Malkin has many years of experience treating bipolar disorders with both pharmacology, psychotherapy, and behavioral therapy.
